[GIP-24] Election of the GoodDollar Community Manager/Social Media Manager through the GoodDAO
Proposal Summary
This proposal invites the integration of the selection process for the Community Manager/Social Media Manager within the powers attributed to the GoodDAO as an administrative entity and guarantor of the interests of GoodDollar and spokesperson for the will of its community.
Rationale
Web3 is a vast, expanding universe with dozens of emerging projects every day; And, although there is room for everyone, standing out and maintaining user interest is a challenge that can represent the turning point or stagnation of a project, regardless of its potential. The way to overcome this challenge is through the implementation of strategies for good brand projection and customer service for the conversion and engagement of a community.
The Community Manager and The Social Media Manager are the two crucial roles that execute these strategies. Both create and curate content, analyze audience behavior and trends, are responsible for the reputation of the brand, and although they may be considered the same, their functions are oriented in different aspects of organizational image management and the community of a project:

-

-

Both roles perform fundamental tasks to maintain the momentum of a project; build long-term community value by fostering a relationship of trust; create stability during periods of volatility in the market; help survive bear markets by strengthening the community; and convert curious into social media followers and then into active community members.
For GoodDollar, it represents an anchor and a pillar that, hand in hand with the redeployment of the reserve, can leverage the restoration and subsequent growth and revalue the project after a rocky year as a consequence of the events that occurred in December 2023. It is due to the repercussions exerted by these roles on the community and, therefore, on the project, that the selection process of the individual or team that will hold it deserves the attention and participation of all members of the GoodDAO.
Parameters
Entity
Establish whether the roles will be assigned jointly or separately to an individual/s or a team.
Management Period
Each entity will have a six-month management period renewable to one year (second period), submitting it to a vote. Once the year is over, a new application process will be opened directly.
Establish the start and end dates of each period, as well as the payment dates.
Financing
Establish the funds that cover the performance of the roles, as well as their division and distribution according to the entity and the period. Determine whether their allocation will come from the GoodLabs Foundation as a donation or, instead, will be directly designated from the governance treasury.
Establish the funds that cover the expenses for campaigns, events and advertising, as well as their division and distribution according to the entity and the period. Determine whether their allocation will come from the GoodLabs Foundation as a donation or, instead, will be directly designated from the governance treasury.
Application Period
Establish the deadline for receiving applications.
Voting Mechanics
The process will be carried out by the usual means (Snapshot) and using the GoodDAO governance token (GOOD).
The relevant adjustments will be made in logistics so that the results of the voting are known one month before the end of the current management period to create a margin of time that facilitates a possible transition. If it is a vote to approve a second management period of the current entity, adjustments will be made so that the results are known one and a half months before the end of the period to create a margin of time that facilitates the organization of an application process in case the second period is rejected.
Regardless of the established entity, nominations will be made individually, and the community will have the power to propose another individual, who must officially submit their application if interested.
If the established entity is joint-individual, or if the renewal of an entity for a second period is going to be consulted, the proposed voting system is quadratic. See example.
If the established entity is a team or separated-individual, the proposed voting system is approval. See example.
Administration
Reporting
The entity must submit a monthly report to the GoodDAO, to which it will report directly. This one will monitor its performance and provide feedback.

Conclusion
This proposal advocates for the implementation of more tools in the hands of governance that strengthen transparency and decentralization, while also benefiting the growth of GoodDollar and its community. The incorporation of the selection process for the Community Manager/Social Media Manager as part of the inherent faculties of the GoodDAO promotes the inclusion and participation of our entire community, exalting it as the main actor in the development of a broader and more diversified governance; opens opportunities for those who feel qualified and competent to cover these roles; enriches the community’s decision-making and deepens its knowledge about the organizational structure and the importance of each area, thus ensuring that the entity that is elected not only will meet the necessary criteria to execute the previously described tasks, but will also represent the will of the DAO and acquire a commitment to it.
