How can we rescale our current community programs to be more inclusive and effective?

To make our programs more effective and inclusive, we can start by establishing localized working groups in the community. These would be region- and language-specific so that contributors across the board feel more comfortable articulating their needs and suggestions. Additionally:

Conduct regular polls and surveys in the GoodDollar app and social media to ensure everybody has their say.

Implement a Community Rotation Model, where a different community (e.g., women, young people, rural members) leads a mini-initiative every month, creating ownership and visibility across all sectors.

Create a Contributor Support Desk for guiding new joiners through onboarding, learning, and actively contributing to community projects.

What are your recommendations for stimulating community involvement and participation?

  1. Idea Incubator Challenge: Hold frequent mini-hackathons or idea incubators for the community to collaborate in small groups and develop micro-projects on GoodDollar. They are rewarded with G$ grants and mentorship.

  2. Ambassador & Referral Program: Have a gamified referral system where contributors get paid G$ for referrals, especially from underserved communities. Verified ambassadors can hold local events or online meetups.

  3. Recognition & Rewards System: Give recognition to contributors weekly on GoodDollar’s websites (e.g., “Contributor of the Week”), and provide badges or G$ rewards for consistent participation.

  4. Interactive Learning Quests: Develop engaging, bite-sized missions or quests on how to use GoodDollar, how to promote it, or how to build with it. Users receive G$ and access to upgraded challenges when they successfully complete quests.

  5. GoodDollar Talent Exchange: Add a community-backed gig platform to the website, whereby members can offer skills (writing, design, coding, translation, etc.) in exchange for G$. This keeps the community economically active and connected.

  1. How can we reorganize our current community initiatives to be more inclusive and effective?

We propose developing a comprehensive online platform to manage all initiatives, track associated G$ disbursements, and maintain a synchronized online calendar for all initiative-related activities.

  1. What are your ideas for boosting community engagement and participation?

To enhance UBI awareness and promote the GoodDollar project, we should expand our ambassador program to include more virtual and in-person seminars.

  1. Beyond the GoodMarket, how can G$ be used for real-life utility and everyday needs?

To foster long-term G$ token retention, I recommend implementing a staking incentive program. I propose allocating 10% of the daily Universal Basic Income (UBI) to reward stakers proportionally to their stake.

G$ x Credit Card Partnership: Unlocking Real-Life Utility via PayFi

To make GoodDollar (G$) more useful in everyday life, I propose partnering with a crypto-friendly credit card issuer that allows people to spend their UBI directly via card payments - online or in-store.

Reorganizing for Inclusion & Effectiveness:
We can make our initiatives more inclusive and effective by shifting focus toward real-world financial access. A G$ card would empower users — especially in underserved areas - to use their UBI for everyday essentials, not just within the GoodMarket.

Boosting Engagement:

  • Launch a card pilot with an early adopter program — users can earn extra G$ for signing up, spending, or referring others.
  • Let the community vote on which local merchants or services should accept the card first.
  • Offer cashback in G$ to keep the economy circulating and reward usage.

Real-Life Utility Beyond the GoodMarket:
This idea would let users buy food, pay bills, or top up phones directly with their G$ via the card — turning G$ into a truly spendable and practical UBI.
A card partnership would also add credibility, encourage merchant participation, and attract more users to the ecosystem.

Note: While crypto spending may still trigger taxation in some countries, we can work around this with built-in tax reporting tools or stablecoin-specific guidance.

Let’s bridge UBI and real-world impact. A G$ card could make it happen!

  1. Reorganizing initiatives : Be more inclusive.
To make our community initiatives more inclusive & effective, I propose the creation of a “Super Active Users” program that identifies & rewards grassroots individuals or maybe groups using G$ to create real world community impact like helping the elderly, visiting the sick, plantings trees and the winners to be recognized across the community rewarded with G$ and even featured in spotlight interviews or mini-documentaries and by doing so this will promote grassroots participation, inclusivity & serves as a motivational platform for others to get involved.

  2. Boosting Community Engagement & Participation
I propose the use of market days, transit hubs, or events, offer useful services—like smartphone help, legal advice, or health checks—and reward participants with small G$ tokens. This raises awareness of G$ utility and draws new participants organically.

  3. Real-Life Utility Of G$ Beyond The GoodDollar.
I propose creating something like "G$ Daily Essential " Discount program, where by local vendors, shops will accept to give discounts on things we need on a daily basis like transport, food, stationery and in return, GoodDollar can help promote these shops/vendors or support them with small rewards or micro-sponsorship. This way, more people will want to use G$ and it helps local businesses too.

Good dollar need to get get a quality timeframe for interacting with their active users especially those in African countries more technology to drive in the mindset of people who are poorly technically illiterate but are willing to work online

I really like the idea of staking G$ to get more G$; it stops people from selling off their tokens quickly and encourages them to hold onto them longer.
But hey, shouldn’t it be at least 20% of the daily UBI?

Prioritizing G$ token appreciation is crucial before exploring expenditure avenues. While the credit card concept holds merit, its current feasibility is questionable.
High commission fees would likely exceed earnings.
Even Binance faces significant challenges in achieving global credit card deployment due to regulatory constraints.
Therefore, this approach remains impractical at present.

Thanks for your comment!
I think GoodDAO will determine the optimal ratio if the proposal gets adopted.

Gooddollar is doing amazing with it’s rolled out initiatives however, more awareness campaign is needed at this time in other to onboard more users to help drive home Gooddollar dreams to achieve it’s objectives.
Roadmap is also important at this point so preaching about Gooddollar to crypto currency enthusiasts and crypto novice to become aware of what Gooddollar team hopes or intends to actualise.
Universal basic income is a catchy tool to excite crypto community as it’s distribution method is fair to all who participates but without constant awareness and marketing people will not pay much of attention to the direction of Gooddollar.

There are many ways, like lets create a mining side or gaming side that rewards level ups and high score with rewards. We could have different things like staking to create liquidity wbich attracks people and gives out prizes or airdrops for paticipation ect.

G$ for Good: Expanding Beyond UBI to Power Global Impact

It’s time to evolve the GoodDollar vision beyond UBI. While universal basic income has been a great starting point for building a fairer world, doing good shouldn’t stop at individuals - it should scale to entire communities, causes and systems. Let me explain…

Reorganizing for Inclusion & Effectiveness:
Let’s reposition GoodDollar as the go-to system for doing good - a global infrastructure that facilitates cooperation between charities, NGOs, philanthropists, governments, and mission-driven companies. UBI becomes just one application of a much broader, more inclusive ecosystem built on $G$.

:busts_in_silhouette: Boosting Engagement:

  • Laverage and scale up a GoodDollar for Good initiative where verified charities and social impact projects can receive and distribute G$.
  • Launch a community-driven partnership campaign - where G$ holders vote to onboard causes, apps, or organizations.
  • Promote peer-to-peer giving and allow donors to send G$ with one click via wallets, widgets and integrations (this to include crypto apps, exchanges banking systems).

Real-Life Utility Beyond the GoodMarket:
GoodDollar can become the default currency of generosity - allowing instant, transparent, fee-free transfers of funds to those doing good, whether it’s an aid NGO, a community-run food bank, or an activist network.
Start with crypto-native organizations and expand to traditional sectors, proving G$ is the best way to share wealth with purpose.

Next Steps:

  • Build a critical mass of strategic integrations with crypto apps, exchanges, donation platforms, crowd-sharing and traditional finance platforms etc.
  • Establish a GoodDollar Impact Registry - an on-chain directory of trusted causes.
  • Create partnerships with DAOs, giving platforms, and even government pilots to distribute aid transparently using G$. Mass adoption is the key here.

Let’s turn GoodDollar into the infrastructure of global kindness and cooperation - not just universal basic income, but universal basic good. The possibilities in doping good are endless! Are you ready to rapidly scale up?

Hi, the bottleneck for real life use is at the moment two-fold.

  1. The value of the UBI is too low to be of real use even in low income countries. So I would like to see more effort to increase that value through marketing of the GoodReserve.

  2. Once people have some G$ they can not spend it in real life. The new wallet let’s users easily swap G$ for other coins like USDC. That is a great first step, but still that is crypto. So we need more connection/integration with off-ramp systems. E.g. in a number of countries in Africa Accrue makes off-ramp possible. It’s possible but still cumbersome cause you need to get the two wallets to work correctly. That is quite a bottleneck.

In other words. Can we make off-ramping possible directly from the GoodWallet other than through expensive credit cards (see above)?

The Good Collective (https://goodcollective.xyz/) has already implemented this concept.
As previously discussed, we should prioritize increasing the G$ token’s value through staking rewards to attract further investment.
