  • Challenges Faced:

    Throughout November, we encountered various challenges that required our attention and management:

    :small_orange_diamond:Low Liquidity: Like always, limited liquidity impacted community members’ participation in certain initiatives. To mitigate this, we organized rewarding events and maintained open lines of communication to encourage continued engagement.

    :small_orange_diamond:Spam Management: Increased spam activity required our team to dedicate time and resources to maintain a secure and enjoyable community environment. Many of these issues stemmed from concerns surrounding liquidity and market conditions.

    :small_orange_diamond:Low engagements in community events: Several factors have led to the low engagements of the community in some of the community activities, this low engagement is largely due to the fact that the GoodReserve is still not back up and running and due to that the value of G$ is very low and you can not use you G$ unfortunately.

    Despite these obstacles, we have remained committed to fostering an engaged and well-informed community through consistent communication, support, and motivational initiatives. Our ongoing efforts to address these challenges will continue as we strive to improve the overall GoodDollar experience for all members.

  • Feedback and Suggestions:

    :small_orange_diamond:Liquidity Improvements: Community members have expressed a desire for enhanced liquidity, as this would bolster their confidence in the project’s future.

    :small_orange_diamond:Improved Features to Mini Pay Users: Despite the teams commitments to enhance more features to the mini pay, users need more added features to enable them navigate just like GoodWallet users.

    :small_orange_diamond:Modifications to the community initiatives schedule: As the community continuous to grow, members suggested to modify the initiatives schedule to fit the community activity standard.

Thanks for the eleborate report. I would like the report to mention that low engagement is largely due to the fact that the GoodReserve is still not back up and running. Due to that the value of G$ is very low and you can not use you G$ unfortunately. Without much use for G$ it’s only natural that the engagement is low.

So the first priority should be to get the GoodReserve working again. Can you add that to the Goals and activities?

One other remark. There are so many communication channels around GoodDollar, but I fail to find any information about the most important thing, which is the repair of the GoodReserve. It’s crucial for the project but I can’t find any updates on the progress.

So can we cut down on the number of communication channels? There are so many out there now. I guess it’s not even all of them but I know about these:

  • Telegram many channels
  • Medium articles (a.o. GoodDollar academy)
  • Website GoodDollar
  • Discord
  • Discourse forum
  • AMA sessions
  • Newsletter
  • Notion roadmap
  • LinkedIn
  • Facebook
  • X
  • Instagram
  • Gitbook documentation
  • Youtube
  • GoodDapp
  • GoodWallet also pushes messages now and than
  • even more?

In short, the communication efforts and interaction are very diluted.It’s much better to focus on a few important ones and drop the rest. That would:

  • Improve clarity. E.g. Explain what is GoodDollar on the website one time and refer to that from everywhere else. That prevents all sorts of outdated versions hanging around everywhere
  • Increase user participation. A limited set of channels where all users sent to increases the number of participating users per channel. By doing so they get a much better sense of the ongoing activity and know better where to find what.
  • That also increases engagement. Now all participants are diluted over many channels. If you focus them on just a few channels interactivity increases and engagement. Now it’s rather quiet in Discourse.

A first step would be for instance to stop using Telegram and just send all telegram users overhere to Discourse. Can we do that?

That also saves us from all the hackers, spammers and fishing going on on Telegram. Wouldn’t that save the GIMP team a lot of work too?

Thanks for your inputs @senryu, the report will be updated as suggested in other to make it more clear to the community.

On the aspect of communication efforts, your thoughts are impressive as they will reduce the workload of the Mods, reduce spams and also foster centered constructive engagements. In that case, we will prioritize the channels that are user friendly and easily accessible to the communities. Again, every channel has its specific purpose so we will maintain that to avoid contents conflictions. We currently prioritize Telegram channel as it has large number of members but henceforth, we will focus on redirecting the community to Discourse as it will be more convenient and safe for the community. Nevertheless, we embrace all the channels.

Yes, there are many Telegram users. But unfortunately the quality of the conversation in the channel is very low. Basically a lot of “when moon” type of questions. So yes, it would be great if later on you can redirect that community to Discourse :slight_smile:
